On November 9, Atyrau Refinery LLP began shipping the first batch of Ai-92 gasoline of K5 emission standard to European markets in the amount of 1,827 tons. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocated a quota for the export of this oil product to the plant in November in the amount of 35,606 tons. This is the largest batch for the Republic of Kazakhstan this month.
As a reminder, there was a ban on the export of light oil products in Kazakhstan since 2011. Thus, for the first time since the introduction of the ban, Atyrau Refinery resumed the shipment of the most popular brand of gasoline abroad. At the same time, Atyrau Refinery’s fuel is in demand in European countries due to its high quality.
The improvement in the quality of petroleum products at Atyrau Refinery and an increase in their production in general made it possible to open sales markets for K5 gasoline outside the Eurasian Economic Union. The reason for this was the launch of new technological units of the Deep Oil Refining Complex, built during the period of large-scale modernization of the refinery.
For comparison: Atyrau Refinery shipped about 970,000 tons of high-octane gasoline to the domestic market in 10 months of 2019, which is 102% compared to the same period in 2018.
