At the end of November, Atyrau Refinery received a completely new product that has no analogues in Kazakhstan - winter diesel fuel with a maximum filterability temperature (MFT) of –32.
This was announced at the V international conference "Oil refining and petrochemistry of the Caspian and Central Asia" by Daniyar Tiyesov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of NC KazMunayGas JSC for oil transportation, refining and marketing.
“The new diesel fuel is an entirely domestic product, so we named it Khazar -32. This name was chosen by a vote of the workers of the plant. In terms of its qualities, it corresponds to the K5 emission standard, that is, it has a minimum sulfur content, which means it is less harmful to the environment,” D. Tiyesov noted.
According to D. Tiyesov, diesel fuel with MFT -32 can withstand Kazakhstani cold weather, which means it will be in demand among the residents of the republic.
The new product was produced at a deep oil refining complex built as part of the refinery’s modernization. This is the largest complex of technological units in Kazakhstan, which produces motor fuel corresponding to the K4 and K5 standards, and allows increasing the volume of oil refining at Atyrau Refinery to 5.5 million tons.
